Shakib, Taskin’s brilliance smashed Afghanistan

Bangladesh have taken a great win from the close point of the chance of winning of Afghanistan. Bangladesh won by 7 runs in the first ODI against visting team Afghanistan. After about one year, Bangladesh came to play ODI match in home series at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur, Dhaka. Bangladesh go ahead by winning the first ODI. 

After winning the toss,  Bangladesh captain, Mashrafe Mortaza chose to bat first. Opening batsman Tamim Iqbal started well with Imrul Kayes and later on with Mahmudullah. Tamim scored 80 runs before getting out. Mahmudullah was the only batsman of hitting two sixes in the whole innings of Bangladesh where his 62 runs off 74 balls gave a secured position with 265 runs for all out.

Afghanistani bowler Dawlat Zadran got 4 wickets for 73 runs. In the second innings, Afghanistani batsmen played carefully. Shah and Shahidi’s 3rd wicket partnership built up 144 runs which made a great pressure on Bangladeshi bowlers. 

The drama began during the last 4 overs when Shakib and Taskin pulled out of the bank of losing position. This match was new rhythm for Taskin as he just arrived from the test of bowling action.
