AI Starts Fighting Scam Emails
Tired of receiving scam emails? Well, now there is a way to fight back. A New Zealand based company, Netsafe, has introduced an AI-powered email bot, Re:scam, that will reply (instead of you) to scam emails to waste their time!
$12 billion is lost globally to phishing scams every year. Netsafe is determined to do something about this huge loss. So, what to do with scam emails?
Re:scam works in a funny way. watch the video to know more about it:!
According to the Netsafe, “If you think you’ve received a scam email, forward it to email@example.com and we’ll take it from there. We’ll even send you a summary of the conversations Re:scam has had with the scammer – sometimes they can be quite funny!”
Re:scam is actually a chatbot. It is well-educated and intelligent. If you forward a scam email to Re: scam, it will start behaving like a curious person and reply to the scammers genuinely. The bot will continue talking with the scammers until the scammers stop replying. Its purpose is simple: just to waste the scammers’ time and eventually their profit too.
So, why you are waiting for? Forward your scam email to firstname.lastname@example.org and see what happens! Don’t let the scammers make a profit!
